111 Days

So 111 days til the wedding day and I thought I would share a few things.

The Color Scheme: Bright Pink, bright Yellow, and bright Green
Derrick and I both love bright colors.  Derrick doesn't really like pink, but he doesn't have to wear it so he's totally ok with it.

The Bridesmaid dresses:
The girls are ordering these dresses from Rebecca's Bridal Boutique in Louisville, KY.  The dresses are Alfred Sung D470. They come in all sorts of colors.  I love the ruffles and the flat bow.  They are really feminine and I LOVE that.

The Grooms Suits:

We found these Chaps Suits at Kohls for a really great deal for the whole set.  They will wear a white shirt with the ties below the jacket.  We found the ties for a really great deal as well because those ties originally run $75 a tie and they each were $25.  Buy Your Ties is a great place to go for brand name ties at a discounted price.

The Bridal Party Flowers:

For the Bridesmaids their flowers are going to be hot pink roses and bright yellow roses with accents of billy balls and green berries.  This picture was an inspiration that I found from The Knot.   Below are the groomsman boutonnieres.  Those are the billy balls and they will also have green berries, not the background fabric shown in this picture.
Finally I will show you the Save the Dates we Sent out.  My best friend is a graphic design student at Miami of Ohio and she designed these for us.  I love them.  The picture came from Derrick's brothers wedding.  They had a photobooth and we loved the picture, so we thought we would use it.

Blogger Ethics

As we all know, there are ethics for just about anything these days.  Its as though people need rules and guidelines to understand what is the "right" thing to do.  The same goes for the blogging world.  There are Code of Ethics out there, which don't get me wrong I think they are a great thing.  I have taken a look at "Bloggers Code of Ethics" and Fashion Blog Ethics Video to get more information as I begin into the world of fashion blogging.

I found out a lot of great information, some was common sense, but none the less I found out some useful information.  I discovered that sometimes the more well known your blog becomes, then you could receive gifts.  This has been a big debate whether or not you should receive them.  I believe that you should indeed be able to receive them as long as you gift credit to that company on your blog in special thanks.  I think this gives them great advertisement, as well as you being to network with others around you.  Some people disagree with receiving gifts, but I really see no harm in it as long as you give acknowledgment to the proper people.

I also learned that blogging can be great as long as you give the proper people credit for their work.  If you are quoting an article or sharing things you found then you must be honest.  For example as I search at different wedding ideas, I would never want someone to take and idea that I came up with of their own.  That would be considered stealing.  Also as I attach photos I want to make sure the link is targeted back to the proper person.  Blogging can be fun and not bogged down with all these rules.  I for one don't want to make anyone mad and you really have to be careful because what you write or post is put all over the internet for the WORLD to see.

Social Media attracts the Eye

In recent news, the trend for social media is greatly influencing the fashion world.  After reading an article called : The Fashion Industry Accelerates "Socialtailing" Efforts I have become even more aware of how consumers are really spending their time researching before they shop.  Many people are following their favorite stores on twitter and liking their favorite stores on facebook.  It really is a great selling tool for businesses.  For the amount of time that people spend being involved in social media, this really enables businesses to get their name out there.

I myself have taken advantage of keeping up to date on what the current trends are with the wedding world.   On facebook I "Like"  FashionableBride which sends me current updates.  Each day there are current updates that tell about the newest bridal show, discounts on honeymoons, cute bridesmaid dresses, and much more wedding  info.  It is also a great place for brides to get ideas from other brides.  It is a great selling tool and for other businesses to partner up with FashionableBride.  It is a great way to stay up to date on the latest trends.

I just found out that Anthropologie has a Bridal collection.  It is very whimsical and fun.  It is not too terribly expensive either for wedding.  Check it out.  BHLDN Anthropologie
Needless to say, I have run off into wedding world...

Hence the reason that Social Media captures the eye!

A Day of Love

Weddings are all about how to reflect you and your groom's personalities on that special day...
Check these fun shoes out.

Valentine's Day wedding or not, the day is a reflection of love so why not flaunt it.  I love the classic ones with the heart on the bottom.   I have already gotten my shoes though, so maybe I can add something to the bottom of my shoes, that would be fun.  I got my shoes at Von Maur on sale.  They are the most comfortable 3 inch heels I have ever worn.

Blogging and the Fashion Industry

As we all know, blogging has been the hot thing over the past years.  Many people put their opinion out there on just about any topic.  A big topic has been about fashion.  This impact has been great for the fashion industry.  It has been where people look for inspirations all over the world.  It has allowed people to see what is going on day to day in various places.  The pictures and descriptions and opinions have created this world of blogging that is so eye catching.  The fashion industry professionals have been able to see what is most popular from people on the streets and other professionals.

I believe that the fashion industry will be impacted greatly over the next years because of blogs.  As for me interested in wedding fashion, I have found great resources from the updated wedding blogs.  These have created great ideas.  I have been able to see what is going around the world with wedding fashions.  I believe that blogs will continue to soar and create something so wonderful for the fashion industry.
